About Me

I grew up in a coastal city in Mexico and, at eighteen, decided to move to the U.S. in order to attend university. Since graduating with a degree in computer science, I’ve spent the last six years working as an iOS developer. I enjoy programming, hiking, camping, playing video games, and reading in my spare time. I like my coffee black, my beer hoppy, and my food spicy!

What I Value

Self-development and improvement are two things I value very highly. It is important for me to set goals and strive to achieve them, whether they be in areas related to fitness, work, intellect, or leisure. For example, in order to stay informed in the tech field, I read blogs and magazines, listen to podcasts, and attend conferences. I put this same approach into practice with any goals I want to accomplish: I find the right tools and use them to help me succeed.

I’ve been programming for almost ten years, and have spent the last six developing iOS applications. At Arux Software I built two apps using Swift when it was open beta. At Conservis I'm helping build their flagship application and maintain an older app that is written in both Objective-c and Swift. I have had the pleasure of working with and watching Swift grow and change almost since its inception. Outside of work, I enjoy taking on projects which challenge me and allow me to play with technologies I normally don’t get to use on the job. For example, building this website in my spare time has helped me to expand my experience with CSS and HTML.
